Coordinator of Music Therapy: Recruited to design and implement the region’s first medical music therapy program. Responsibilities include developing music therapy specific policies, developing and supervising a National Internship Rooster music therapy training program, providing comprehensive music therapy assessments and treatment interventions, providing formal and informal in-service training on research and benefits of music therapy with medical patients, and representing the hospital and department within the community. Designed, collected, and analyzed data related to effectiveness of music therapy with medical patients.

Facilitated and advised intern research. Collaborate with the marketing department and outside human service agencies to reach service lines and target populations.

Capital Hospice, Falls Church, VA

Music Therapist: Designed, implemented, and evaluated music therapy sessions to meet the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of hospice patients and their families in an acute care facility as well as children and adolescents receiving bereavement services. Designed, collected and analyzed data related to a US Department of Health and Human Services grant for music therapy services.

Teaching and Research Assistant: Prepared lectures, oversaw and provided feedback to student role-playing, and developed and evaluated examinations and assignments for the Developmental Music Therapy undergraduate course. Placed undergraduate and graduate interns, developed competency-based music therapy contracts, facilitated weekly group supervision, and provided on-site evaluations of interns registered in internship seminars. Provided feedback on research designs and tutored students, as needed, for graduate-level quantitative music therapy research courses. Designed and implemented a music therapy program for inpatient oncology patients at Temple University Hospital and patients at Fox Chase’s Outpatient Cancer Center. Supervised undergraduate and graduate-level practicum students and interns.
